Planner/Customer Support (PROF)

Summary

Responsible for customer support, contract review, manufacturing support, and MRO ordering.  Functions as the liaison between manufacturing, customer service and sales globally.  Coordinates order processing to include: estimating, order entry, system maintenance, production planning and inventory management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Enter orders, participate with planning, manage customer drawing approvals, and update customers through process; including printing and sending order acknowledgement.
  • Use procurement software to review, approve and manage non-production related purchases and manage approved vendor listings.
  • Issues PO’s, processes order acknowledgements and requests order status for non-production purchase.
  • Create and maintain Kanban cards for regularly ordered items.
  • Performs reconciliation of online suppliers and P card accounts.
  • Build routes in estimating system and from contact review.
  • Plan and schedule manufacturing jobs to fulfill customer orders; including capacity planning data.
  • Assist in quote to invoicing process with sales/segment supplied quotes to CRM including verification at order entry.
  • Conduct contract review on incoming orders to ensure customer requirements are captured.
  • Assemble customer required documentation for shipment including certifications, invoices, export coordination as needed.  Communicating with customer throughout process.
  • Participates in planning/productions meetings.
  • Supports internal and external customers as needed with RFQ’s entry in CRM.

Education and/or Work Experience

  • B.S. degree in a technical or business degree. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing/materials role environment preferred.
     

Technical Skills/Physical Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal. Must possess ability to influence people to achieve department and plant mission, vision and objectives. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Must be effective in working with and maintaining relationships with all levels of employee at plant and corporate levels.
  • Ability to be resourceful, demonstrate business acumen and critical thinking skills and make sound decisions. 
  • Familiarity and competency with computers, databases and ERP and Accounting systems .
  • M3 or Jobboss previous system experience preferred.
  • Travel - generally not required
