Summary
In this key role, the Maintenance Manager will provide direct oversight of the Equipment/Facilities/Maintenance Teams and the Environmental Health and Safety Supervisor. This individual will lead direct reports in the attainment of established maintenance standards/Safety, goals and objectives established by the plant.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop/amend and implement Total Preventative Maintenance Program.
- Monitors execution of PM program including coordination with operations due to production requirements.
- Prepare budgets for maintenance per defined targets.
- Drives change within existing organizational structure to improve group efficiency utilizing lean manufacturing concepts.
- Lead, develop, and support enhanced performance of direct reports, including but not limited to: training, coaching, counseling, discipline, and compliance with all policies and procedures.
- Works with Operation to define critical pieces of equipment to increase equipment uptime.
- Works with Engineering on Capital equipment design, purchases, and installations.
- Recommends outside contractor utilization as needed.
- Reviews alternative processes, equipment and hand tools for improving performance and investigates new equipment to improve productivity and reduce costs.
- Maintains adequate stock of repair parts; reviews quotes, recommends action and initiates purchase.

Education and/or Work Experience
- B.S. degree in appropriate discipline
- 5 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
Technical Skills/Physical Requirements
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal. Must possess ability to influence people to achieve department and plant mission, vision and objectives;
- Excellent interpersonal skills. Must be effective in working with and maintaining relationships with all levels of employee at plant and corporate levels;
- Ability to be resourceful, demonstrate business acumen and critical thinking skills and make sound decisions;
- Competency with computers, databases and Maintenance Management Systems.
- Data driven.
- Training and/or experience leading a Kaizen or TPM; and
- Demonstrated leadership qualities.
- Travel - not required.
