Summary: Lead end-to-end supply chain operations for Electronica Tungsten Limited (ETL) in Nashik, an acquired company of Hyperion Materials & Technologies, while being employed under Hyperion payroll.
The role will oversee supply chain activities across ETL’s finished goods and recycling operations, including warehousing, transportation, direct sourcing of tungsten scrap and binder metals, Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), import-export operations, licensing, and trade compliance supporting the recycling, production, and sale of WO₃, W, WC, and Ready-to-Press (RTP) powders.
The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for ensuring the reliable, cost-effective, and fully compliant flow of materials across the end-to-end value chain, while developing a capable supply chain team and aligning ETL’s operations with Hyperion’s global supply chain and circularity strategy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Warehouse Management
- Own finished goods and recycling-plant warehouse operations, including layout, storage of tungsten scrap, WO3/W/WC/RTP inventory, and hazardous/regulated material segregation as per statutory norms.
- Drive inventory accuracy, FIFO/batch traceability, cycle counts, and stock reconciliation between ERP/WMS and physical stock.
- Optimize warehouse capacity, layout, and material handling (5S, safety, and material-loss reduction) across all storage locations.
- Manage bonded/customs warehousing where applicable for imported scrap and export-bound finished goods.
Transportation Management
- Manage inbound transportation of tungsten scrap, cobalt, and nickel, and outbound distribution of finished goods (WO3, W, WC, RTP) to domestic and export customers.
- Select, negotiate, and manage 3PL/transporters and freight forwarders (road, rail, sea, and air) to optimize cost, transit time, and service levels.
- Ensure compliant transportation of hazardous and dual-use cargo, including correct documentation, packaging, and labelling.
Track freight cost per ton/lane and drive continuous cost and lead-time optimization.
Direct Sourcing – Tungsten Scrap, Cobalt, Nickel
- Own direct sourcing of tungsten scrap (hard and soft), cobalt, nickel, and other binder metals to feed ETIL's recycling and manufacturing operations, in coordination with the global Sourcing & Procurement team.
- Develop and qualify domestic and international scrap and secondary-raw-material suppliers; build a resilient, diversified supply base in line with Hyperion's closed-loop circularity strategy.
- Track global tungsten, cobalt, and nickel price trends and indices to inform buy timing, pricing formulas, and landed-cost decisions.
- Negotiate long-term supply agreements and pricing terms for scrap and raw material inputs, balancing cost, quality, and supply continuity.
License Portfolio Management
- Own and maintain ETIL's complete import and export license portfolio required for recycling operations and sale of WO3, W, WC, and RTP, and for import of tungsten scrap.
- Manage the Importer-Exporter Code (IEC) and all associated DGFT authorizations, renewals, and amendments
- Obtain and renew hazardous/other-waste import authorizations from the State Pollution Control Board/CPCB and MoEF&CC (under the Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management & Transboundary Movement) Rules) for import of tungsten scrap and ensure Basel Convention documentation is for transboundary movement.
- Evaluate and manage SCOMET/dual-use export licensing obligations from DGFT applicable to tungsten and tungsten carbide products destined for controlled end-uses or end-users, including end-user certificates where required.
- Maintain licenses under EPR/consent-to-operate and other regulatory registrations relevant to recycling operations, and track renewal timelines to avoid lapses.
- Act as the primary liaison with DGFT, Customs, State Pollution Control Boards, MoEF&CC, and other regulatory authorities on licensing matters.
Trade Compliance – Import and Export - Ensure full compliance with India's Foreign Trade Policy, Customs Act, and applicable export-control regimes for all import of tungsten scrap/binder metals and export of finished tungsten products.
- Build and maintain internal trade-compliance controls: HS code classification, restricted-party/end-use screening, valuation, and documentation standards for every shipment.
- Coordinate with CHAs, freight forwarders, and Customs for smooth import/export clearance, and manage duty drawbacks, advance authorization, EPCG, or other applicable export-incentive schemes.
- Maintain audit-ready trade-compliance records and lead internal/external compliance audits and regulatory inspections.
- Monitor changes in DGFT notifications, SCOMET list updates, and hazardous-waste import policy, and proactively adapt ETIL's processes and licenses.
Planning & S&OP - Own the monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) cycle, aligning demand forecasts, production plans, scrap/raw material availability, and finished goods inventory targets across Sales, Production, and Sourcing.
- Translate the S&OP plan into warehouse, transportation, and sourcing execution plans; monitor plan adherence and drive corrective action for gaps.
- Balance working-capital and inventory targets against service-level and supply-continuity requirements for both finished goods and recycling inputs.
- Provide supply chain inputs to budgeting, capacity planning, and new-business/product decisions.
Team Management
- Lead, develop, and manage the supply chain team across warehouse, logistics, sourcing, and trade compliance functions.
- Set goals, review performance, and build capability through training on regulatory, ERP, and process requirements.
- Foster a strong safety and compliance culture across warehouse and transportation operations.
- Partner cross-functionally with Production, Quality, Sales, Finance, and Legal to ensure the supply chain function supports ETIL's overall business goals.
Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate/Postgraduate in Supply Chain Management, Engineering (Metallurgy/Mechanical/Industrial), International Trade, or Business Administration; MBA or PG diploma in Supply Chain/Materials Management preferred.
- Experience: 10–15 years in supply chain, materials, or logistics management within metals, mining, recycling, or process manufacturing, with demonstrated ownership of import-export licensing and trade compliance; experience in the tungsten/carbide or non-ferrous metals recycling industry is a strong advantage.
- Skills Required: Warehouse and transportation management, S&OP process ownership, direct sourcing and negotiation, regulatory liaison and license management, team leadership, and analytical/ERP proficiency.
- Knowledge / Competencies: DGFT Foreign Trade Policy and IEC/SCOMET processes, Customs Act and import-export documentation, Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management & Transboundary Movement) Rules and Basel Convention requirements, ERP (SAP/Oracle preferred), and working knowledge of the tungsten/carbide value chain.

- Warehouse inventory accuracy and space/capacity utilization
- Logistics/freight cost as a percentage of sales or cost per ton
- Zero compliance lapses, penalties, or shipment holds on import/export licenses and trade compliance
- License and authorization renewal turnaround time (100% on-time renewal)
- Tungsten scrap, cobalt, and nickel sourcing volume and cost vs. budget
- S&OP forecast accuracy and plan adherence
- Team capability, engagement, and safety performance
