Recycling Manager (Mgmt)

Summary

Leads recycling production operations for Plant 2, including scrap processing and solvent extraction/crystallization. Responsible for production planning and execution, throughput and plant utilization, process and product quality, continuous improvement, safety, team leadership, and manufacturing cost control. Partners with QA/QC and drives operational performance through OEE, yield, rejection reduction, on-time delivery, and cost management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Production Operations - Scrap Processing

• Manage daily production planning and execution.

• Ensure optimum throughput and plant utilization.

• Monitor process parameters and product quality across all manufacturing stages.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives for productivity and yield enhancement.

• Minimize downtime and production losses.

Solvent Extraction & Crystallization

• Control extraction efficiency and impurity removal.

• Monitor solvent inventory, phase separation, and reagent consumption.

Quality Management

• Coordinate with QA/QC teams.

• Ensure compliance with ISO and customer requirements.

• Drive reduction in rejects, rework, and customer complaints.

Safety & Environment

• Implement EHS policies and procedures.

• Ensure safe handling of hydrogen, chemicals, powders, and furnaces.

Team Management

• Lead production engineers, supervisors, and operators.

• Develop workforce skills through training and mentoring.

• Drive performance management and succession planning.

Cost Control

• Control manufacturing costs and consumable usage.

• Monitor energy, gas, chemical, and utility consumption.

• Improve OEE and production efficiency.

Qualifications

Education and/or Work Experience

• B.E./B.Tech or higher in Chemical Engineering.

• 12-15+ years of experience, including at least 8 years in operations in a chemical processing unit.

• Knowledge of special metals and advanced materials is an added advantage.

• Knowledge of managing solvent extraction is a major added advantage.

Technical Skills/Physical Requirements

• Chemical engineering and hydrometallurgy / solvent extraction.

• Strong knowledge of operational excellence (Lean, Six Sigma) and Health & Safety tools.

• Preference for experience in tungsten carbide manufacturing and solvent extraction operations.

• ERP systems for production management.

• Operational team management, communication, and problem solving.
