Summary

Develops and implements breakthrough product and channel strategies that drive global market share, revenue, and margin growth.  Understands, anticipates, and meets the demands of our global customer base.  Leverages our manufacturing capability and material applications expertise. This role must be based in the Pittsburgh area. The role requires on site colloaboration with our operations team at our locations east of Pittsburgh, but will have hybrid flexibilty. It will not be required to be on-site Monday - Friday. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Feasibility & Delivery: Validate technical and commercial feasibility of new products; support New product development as well as production ramp ups.

  • Coordinates with R & D to develop new products, product enhancements, and product redesign.

Strategic Leadership: Define product vision, conduct market research, manage the product portfolio and pricing strategy to maximize margin and market competitiveness.

  • Understands industry trends and technology innovation. Develops a deep understanding of target markets and the competitive landscape. Monitor competitors and their marketing activities. Anticipates and reacts quickly to trends and changes in performance.

Customer Development: Support new customer acquisition by acting as the technical guide for Sales and ensuring product-market fit.

  • Collaborate with R & D as well as Operations to develop realistic product specifications that will satisfy customer and market demands.

Cross-Functional Alignment: Serve as the central liaison between Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Operations to accelerate Go-to-market.

  • Collaborate with Marketing & Communications to develop online and offline marketing campaigns with sound measurements to build brand equity and develop sales opportunities.

Education and/or Work Experience

  • BS or MS in Engineering (preferred) / Business (MBA a plus).
  • At least 10 years commercial experience, product management desired, with extensive customer interaction.
  • Experience in manufacturing
  • Proven track record of setting aggressive targets and meeting business goals through team interaction and involvement.
  • Travel

Technical Skills/Physical Requirements

  • Outstanding leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering market share, sales growth and profitability
  • Expertise in planning, prioritizing, cross functional and global projects
  • Proficient computer skills required.
  • Travel - Up to 35% including international travel.
