Sales Engineer - Newcastle

Summary: The prime focus of this role will be to Develop Business by leveraging your industry network and expanding/developing supply chain to service a market. The initial focus will be in the Materials Handling/Belt Cleaning Market, with long term possibilities expanded to, Aerospace, Medtech, Sugar processing and specialist components space.
Key Performance Areas:
Reporting to the Regional General Manager AU/NZ, the Sales Engineer – Project Pursuit, will be responsible for, and ultimately ‘own’ revenue growth in the selected application, initially Materials Handling/Belt Cleaning Market, promoting and selling the product range incorporating Cemented Carbide and Synthetic Diamond related products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Balance the need of an external supply chain AND the needs of an OEM or Aftermarket customer base
- Be ‘the face’ of a local product sector
- Identify and drive the closing of gaps internally and externally to ensure task flow and efficiencies
- Develop individual sales plans; achieve sales targets by executing the plans.
- Establish and maintain relationships within the specified markets.
- Updating & ownership of own CRM data, managing the sales funnel, submitting reports on sales activities and area development to achieve sales budget.
- Networking in the industry and be updated on the latest trends and evolving technical innovation.
- Offering customized and value-added solutions based on project requirements and making technical presentations to all stakeholders.
- Coordinating with internal team to execute the orders within the committed timeline and conducting commercial discussion and negotiation on the proposals made.
- Keep an up-to-date product knowledge of the Hyperion Products.
- Adhere to all Hyperion Policies & Procedures.
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have at minimum a trade background, bringing technical aptitude with good interpersonal skills and be able to communicate at various levels and a willingness to learn and work in a growing team. Additionally, working knowledge of material science in the Cemented Carbide or Synthetic Diamond is desirable
Education and/or Work Experience:
- 4 – 7 years sales experience is essential.
- 3-5 years direct experience in the Conveyer Belt Industry will be highly regarded.
- Knowledge or work experience in toolmaking industries would be advantageous - ie Process Engineering, Tungsten Carbide / CBN / Diamond tool manufacture, but is not essential.
- History of an environment where strong negotiation skills have been honed
- Engineering background, Mechanical or Material Technology background would be highly regarded.
- A commitment to improving customer productivity through “Value Selling”.
- Strong sales data analysis & Computer skills essential.
- Current Drivers License required.
- Must have a Legal Right to Work in Australia
