Summary
The Manager of Benefits is responsible for establishing, monitoring, managing, delivering and leading benefit plans, including health and welfare plans, wellbeing programs, retirement plans, voluntary benefit plans, absence management, and awards. This role will serve as the main point of contact for Hyperion’s benefits programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Review and analyze the benefits market to determine employee needs, trends, regulations, practices, and develop competitive programs and services to meet company goals.
- Lead benefit plan design, implementation, maintenance, communication, and administration of company benefits and well-being offerings.
- Oversee request for proposal (RFP) process to ensure potential consultants, vendors and products are compliant and offer maximum quality and value to both the company and employee.
- Act as a strategic partner with HR team members, external consultants, and business leaders to ensure that all benefits and well-being programs align with the strategic goals of the company and support driving a high-performance culture by attracting and retaining top talent.
- Develop communication channels to drive maximum value of programs which inform employees and candidates of the value of their total rewards package.
- Manage high-level relationships with third-party brokers and vendors responsible for benefit and well-being services and plans, including service agreements/contracts, costing and compliance.
- Drive utilization of data, benchmarking, and analysis to ensure programs are structured and performing at set targets.
- Analyze and review financial performance of benefit plans and recommend improvements based on industry best practices.
- Project budget for health, welfare, and retirement plans and monitor plan performance/efficiency/costs while partnering with Finance to ensure that appropriate budget estimates and accruals are in place.
- Resolve complex benefits issues and inquiries, escalating to senior leaders or external parties as needed.
- Manage annual benefits enrollment process, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of information and materials to employees.
- Manage annual 401(k) audit.
- Oversee annual nondiscrimination testing.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Work Experience
- Undergraduate degree in related field or relevant work experience
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in related HR roles
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to think innovatively and with a problem-solving mindset
- The ability to work concurrently on multiple priority projects and apply good judgment in prioritization
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Basic proficiency and comfort with Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) or other IT systems
- Strong ability to build relationships and foster positive team collaboration
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
Technical Skills/Physical Requirements
- Benefits management experience
- Global benefits experience preferred
- Minimal travel required
