Sales Engineer

Summary

This position within the Diamond Global Sales team, is responsible for growing sales and revenue within the Toolmaker Solutions group.  The position is accountable for identifying, developing, and executing Customer Sales Strategies. The position is accountable for fostering and building strong customer relationships through their experience and interactions with our customer base.  Regular consistent customer contact and pursuit of new business will be key for success.  A mechanical and technical background is essential for preparing proposals, quotes and assisting customers.  This position is the face of the business to our customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

•Drives revenue growth by prospecting and acquiring new business to exceed annual goals.
•Target competitive accounts to grow customer base and penetrate territory: prospect new leads and generate new business. 
•Conduct in depth technical discussions with customers to understand their requirements, address concerns and provide appropriate recommendations. 
•Leads product presentations to demonstrate the value proposition of Diamond products that align with prospective customer objectives.  
•Establish and manage customer relations by regularly visiting customers to develop positive and understand needs.
•Continually network within customer organization and territory to proactive find new business.
•Prepare and present proposals and quotes to customers.
•Act as Diamond products primary liaison for customers and collaborating with Manufacturing.
•Use value added sales techniques and negotiations skills to grow market share.
•Develop and execute on tactical strategies to convert leads into opportunities
•Perform daily weekly business development in support of individual sales plans and objectives.
•Work cross functionally to develop business into sales revenue
•Demonstrate technical proficiency with manufacturing processes and significant product knowledge.

Education and/or Work Experience

•Bachelor’s degree in engineering highly preferred. Work experience in comparable role and industry may be considered in lieu of bachelor’s degree.
•Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
•3-5 year’s relevant work experience in sales and/or engineering required.
•Proven experience in a sales engineering or technical sales role, preferably in manufacturing
•Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner.
•Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, with a customer-focused mindset
•Results driven with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
•Entrepreneurial mind set with a sense of urgency and accountability.
•High level of business and sales acumen.
•Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
•Knowledge of sales and customer account management is preferred.
•Excellent communication skills with the ability to build and maintain strong partnerships.
•Strong computer skills including use of CRM and sales enablement tools for tracking and managing sales activities.
•Willingness to travel as required to meet with clients and attend industry events.
