Summary

The Staff Accountant reports to the Controller with primary responsibilities including monthly financial close, P&L analysis, balance sheet account reconciliation schedules, and participation in the annual budgeting process.  Additional responsibilities include ad hoc reporting and analysis as assigned.  This role requires strong accounting and analytical skills, financial acumen, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.  This role presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to a manufacturing facility accounting team. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Month end financial close process including preparing journal entries and analysis for accounts as assigned.
  • Oracle ERP and general ledger maintenance for fixed assets and capital projects.
  • Oracle ERP and general ledger maintenance for manufacturing inventory.  Standard cost review and updates.  Compilation of the file for excess inventory reserves.
  • Balance sheet account reconciliation and general ledger maintenance for accounts assigned.
  • Bank account reconciliation and liaison to AR and AP to communicate reconciling items.
  • Prepares schedules for external auditors in support of reported financial statement balances.
  • Assists in annual budget process including preparation of schedules to support standard cost updates for raw materials, freight, and resource costs.
  • Participate in annual physical inventory planning and execution.
  • Ad Hoc reporting and analysis as required.

Education and/or Work Experience

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business or other related discipline.   Equivalent experience may be substituted in lieu of education.     
  • Three or more years of experience in finance/accounting.
