Sales Engineer (G10)

Summary

The prime focus of this role will be to implement the business strategy within the assigned industry segments, by generating new opportunities for business and servicing an existing customer base. Utilising the autonomy of the role to develop new relationships across industry and expand our business & product portfolio thereby resulting in profitable and revenue growth.

Reporting to the Sales Manager, the Sales Engineer will be responsible for promoting and selling the range of Hard and Super-hard materials and tools (Cemented Carbide, diamond and CBN) products within an allocated region. Key customer focus areas will include Toolmakers (Carbide, diamond and CBN), General Engineering, Oil and Gas, Sanitary products manufacturing and other potential industries.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Developing individual sales plans; achieve sales targets by executing the plans within allocated region.
  • Providing technical expertise and guidance to end users and our customers in the selection of appropriate tooling/products/solutions throughout the sales process.
  • Understand Hyperion Go to market strategy, product/service’s technical features, functionalities, and benefits and conducting product demonstrations and delivering compelling presentations to showcase the value of our solutions.
  • Maintain the servicing of existing customer base while actively prospecting for new business.
  • Updating CRM on regular basis, managing the sales funnel, submitting reports on sales activities and area development to achieve sales budget.
  • Maintain an up-to-date product knowledge of the Hyperion Products range, development and support of Hyperion distributors.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the customer’s requirements and stay updated on industry trends, market dynamics and competitor offerings.
  • Adhere to all Hyperion Policies & Procedures.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a technical aptitude with good interpersonal skills and be able to communicate at various levels and a willingness to learn and work in a growing team.

Education and/or Work Experience

  • 2 – 4 years corporate technical sales experience or relevant industry experience is necessary. 
  • Knowledge or work experience in process manufacturing or toolmaking industries would be advantageous - ie Toolmaking, Sanitary Products Manufacturing, Process Engineering, Tungsten Carbide / CBN / Diamond tool manufacture, but is not essential.

Technical Skills/Physical Requirements

  • Travel - As much as 75% travel. 
  • An engineering background with minimum trade qualifications is required for this role, Mechanical or Material Technology background would be highly regarded.
  • Industrial experience is welcomed.
  • A commitment to improving customer productivity through “Value Selling”.
  • Literacy & Computer skills essential.
  • Current Drivers License required.
  • Native local language and strong English skills are required.
