Global Supply Chain Specialist

Summary
This role is responsible for supporting the Global Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) process for one or more business units in Hyperion Materials & Technologies in order to balance demand and supply resources and align plans to business objectives. Specifically, this person will support their Global Business Unit Supply Chain Manager to manage the people, processes and systems required to balance service, cost, inventory, sustainability and risk.
In addition, this individual will support our Supply Chain Practice Leaders in the development and implementation of best practices and standard operating procedures across Demand Planning, Supply Planning and Inventory Optimization within our Supply Chain Center of Excellence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Key activities include but are not limited to:
SIOP Process Facilitation:
- Help the Global Business Unit Supply Chain Manager facilitate the SIOP process and calendar of events.
- Support the coordination, scheduling and documentation preparation for the key Business Unit SIOP meetings including action management and follow-up.
- Conduct and/or facilitate what-if analysis to create alternate scenarios for reconciling demand, supply, and financial plans. Explain and communicate the risks and upside associated with different scenarios for more productive cross-functional discussions.
- Support strategic improvements in planning tools, reporting, processes, culture and skills required to align process outcomes with corporate goals.
Demand Planning:
- Collaborate with sales teams to forecast demand accurately. Use historical data, open orders, market trends, and customer insights to create reliable sales forecasts and consensus demand plans.
- Support the generation of monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts based on direct discussions with commercial teams and internal supply chain and production units for our core and high-volume customer/Items.
- Work with various cross-functional teams like portfolio managers on projects such as new product launches, line extensions, product discontinuations, promotions, and events.
Supply Planning:
- Help align production schedules with sales forecasts. Help optimize production capacity, lead times, and resource allocation to meet customer delivery timelines and expectations.
- Convert consensus demand plan into a Master Production Schedule at the production unit level.
- Collaborate with production units to develop capacity and raw material requirements plans to align supply with demand.
- Monitor capacity utilization, schedule adherence, backorder percentages and on-time shipment performance for each production unit and work with operations leadership to identify and drive opportunities for improvement.
Inventory Optimization:
- Help implement inventory control policies that balance working capital objectives with product availability and business growth objectives while optimizing our Days In Inventory.
- Support the monthly and annual inventory target setting process at each production unit and sales unit within the BU and help drive continuous improvement initiatives to consistently achieve these targets.
- Leverage data to support the classification and segmentation of inventory and to determine appropriate safety stock levels and reorder points for make-to-stock items in the product portfolio.
ERP System Standardization & Support:
- Standardize supply chain processes across the global business unit using our Infor M3 Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system in order to streamline data flow, enhance visibility, and facilitate decision-making.
- Drive consistent ERP utilization across all business unit locations with a focus on ensuring that critical data elements are set up and configured in order to drive supply chain processes. This ensures uniform processes, data integrity, and efficient reporting.
- Tailor the ERP system to meet specific business requirements. Configure modules for inventory management, procurement, production planning, and financials as needed.

Education and/or Work Experience
- Relevant 4-year business degree or equivalent experience 8-10 years required
- Supply Chain experience 1-3 years, preferably in manufacturing
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
Technical Skills/Physical Requirements
- Demonstrated proficiency with ERP systems
- Demonstrated proficiency with MS-Office
- Demonstrated proficiency with data reporting software (such as Business Objects, Power BI)
- Strong working knowledge of Supply Chain planning and inventory management
- Demonstrated success in building professional relationships and leading projects
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Demonstrated success developing relationships with, and successfully servicing customers
- Travel generally not required but for some implementation processes might be required within the located Region.
