Site Manager

Summary

The Site Manager will be responsible for overall plant operations which may include manufacturing, engineering, maintenance, quality assurance/control, Lean and EHS.  Will make recommendations to improve cost, productivity, quality, efficiency of operations and to meet certain expectations for Lean processes to support Hyperion’s overall business strategy and financial objectives.

The Site Manager should have a strong personal drive, technical skills and a well-developed ability to cultivate effective partnerships with our customers and deliver solutions that meet their current and future demands.  In addition, they must have the ability to nurture a culture of respect, discipline, quality and teamwork throughout the plant. The Site Manager should lead the production unit with high collaboration with other functions of the company both local and across Hyperion global network. 
 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead all strategic manufacturing activities to deliver financial and operational expectations.
  • Achieve KPI’s for cost, delivery accuracy, quality standards, service and cost. 
  • Ensure the health and safety of the workforce and facilities following Hyperion EHS guidelines
  • Effectively observes, leads, and empowers the onsite team to deliver with autonomy
  • Implement manufacturing strategies by analyzing critical measurements; applying production quality, and customer-service strategies; resolving problems; and implementing change.
  • Determine customer and operational requirements and coordinate closely with Business Unit leadership, sales, engineering, procurement, logistics, transportation, and human resources departments.
  • Maintain and improve quality production by establishing and enforcing lean manufacturing principles, conducting audits; developing policies and procedures; implementing continuous improvement programs.
  • Identify, develop, implement and monitor Kaizen plans including: process improvements, quality improvements and related cost reductions.
  • Participate in forecasts as part of the annual budgeting process for labor, capital and inventory requirements.
  • Maintain company standards for quality and work within ISO processes and lean initiatives.
  • Maintain equipment by establishing preventive maintenance requirements

Education and/or Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering preferred
  • At least 8 years of work experience in a manufacturing management position
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience

Technical Skills/Physical Requirements

  • Proven record creating a safety culture in a manufacturing environment and maintaining high standards of safety performance.
  • Strong leadership values with the ability to drive change and work with others to achieve business results.
  • Financial acumen with and the ability to maintain, understand, and communicate operational and financial metrics, while using these metrics to drive performance.  Must have experience managing costs.
  • Successful track record of managing people, including hiring, coaching, development, and performance management.
  • The ability to build relationships, and collaborate with others, including engineering, sales, supply chain, customer service, engineering, field services, etc.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9000, 14000, 18000), Lean Manufacturing concepts, and continuous improvement initiatives and tools.
  • Ability to collaborate with and influence all levels of the organization.
  • Able to anticipate, identify, and respond to challenging situations
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills: experience working across multiple levels, functions and regions; able to clearly communicate complex issues in a clear and concise manner
  • Must speak and write both English and Spanish fluently.
